What to Do If the PIR Sensor Fails to Trigger Alarms
If your camera isn't detecting motion or sending alerts as expected, the PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor may not be working correctly. Here are a few things you can check:
✅ Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the camera angle
Make sure the camera is mounted perpendicular to the direction of movement, rather than head-on. PIR sensors work best with side-to-side motion.
- Make sure the PIR function is turned on
Go to the settings and confirm that motion detection is enabled and scheduled correctly.
- Adjust the sensitivity level
If sensitivity is too low, the camera may miss smaller or slower movement. Try increasing it to a medium or high level.
- Check the battery level
Low power can affect detection and system response. Ensure the battery is charged or the solar panel is working properly.
- Restart the device
A simple reset may help reinitialize the detection system.
