Why Is My Camera Image Abnormal During the Day?
If your trail camera shows unusual colors or darkness in daylight, it may be caused by an issue with the IR-CUT filter, which controls day/night image switching.
Common Symptoms:
- Red, purple, or discolored images during the day
- Dark or black images even in daylight
- Camera appears stuck in night vision mode
Possible Causes:
- IR-CUT filter did not switch back to day mode
- Low battery prevents filter movement
- Night vision function on mode is enabled
- Boot-up error or temporary malfunction
How to Fix It:
- Restart the camera to reset the filter position
- Shine a flashlight at the lens for a few seconds to simulate sunlight and trigger filter switching
- Ensure the battery is fully charged or connect to a stable power supply
- Check app settings, and confirm that night vision mode is set to “Auto”
- If the issue continues, contact customer support—it may be a hardware issue with the filter module
