What Happens When the SD Card Is Full?
If your trail camera’s SD card runs out of space, it won’t stop recording. Instead, it follows a smart storage strategy to keep capturing footage.
Automatic Overwrite
Once the SD card is full, the camera will automatically overwrite the oldest files with new recordings. This helps ensure continuous operation without manual intervention.
There are no pop-up alerts or push notifications when the SD card is full, so it’s important to check storage regularly.
What You Can Do
- Let auto-overwrite run: This is the default mode. Your newest videos will replace the oldest ones.
- Replace with a new SD card: If you want to keep all footage, consider using a higher-capacity card.
- Manually format the card: If needed, go to the app’s Settings > SD Card > Format to clear all data.
